Review Your Schedule

When analyzing how much time you have in your day, it is important to be honest with yourself. People often claim they “do not have time” to devote to their faith. But you need to ask yourself if you are just not making the time for God. For example, perhaps you could wake up thirty minutes earlier every day to make time for prayer or reading the Bible. Making the time involves commitment and honesty with how you spend your time!

Start Small

Say you set a goal to read the Bible for thirty minutes daily. While that is an amazing goal to reach, it might be more effective to start out smaller. If you start reading for 10 to 15 minutes daily, you are more likely to stick to your goal, and it will become a habit.

Pray at The Start of Your Day

Sometimes, prioritizing your faith means making it the first thing you check off in your day. For some people, making time for God, including prayer, is best to do in the morning. That way, you do not get sidetracked or forget to pray or make time for God throughout the rest of your day. If you typically pray at night, it could be worthwhile to try praying in the morning!

Set Aside A Couple of Minutes for Devotionals

It is recommended to download an app where you can read Scripture or read daily devotionals that way you don’t forget to set some time to devote to your faith if you are unable to attend church. Reading these devotionals can also help when you feel overwhelmed when trying to make time for everything. With positive and encouraging Scripture, it’ll be even easier to rework your schedule to respect your time with God.

Set Alarms and Reminders Everyday

It can be easy to forget about prayer, Scripture, reading the Bible, or listening to a service when you have work, school, and/or a family to tend to. With that being said, you should set alarms or reminders on a daily basis. You can also set reminders in the Bible app to make sure you read your devotional or scripture for the day!

Memorize Bible Verses

Even simply just reciting Scripture or a Bible verse in your head is better than making no time at all for God in your day! When you feel overwhelmed or if you are having a bad day, it can be helpful to recite some of your favorite or uplifting verses. Through this, you can proceed with your day with confidence and strength from God.

Address Distractions

Another important thing to remember when looking at your schedule is to address areas where you can eliminate distractions. For example, you could spend less time watching TV or less phone time and use that as a window in your day to dedicate to God.
